The China Link Scholarship, established by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), aims to promote international academic exchange and collaboration between Chinese institutions and foreign universities. This scholarship program is available to international students and faculty members interested in conducting research or educational activities in China across various fields, excluding Chinese language studies. It provides funding for a period ranging from 1 to 12 months, covering tuition, on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance, and a monthly stipend of CNY 3,000 for general scholars and CNY 3,500 for senior scholars.
Eligible applicants should be citizens of countries other than China, possess strong academic backgrounds, be in good health, and have an affiliation with a foreign partner university of the CSC. Program Scheme
General Scholar: This category applies to enrolled undergraduate or master’s students.
Senior Scholar: This category applies to enrolled doctoral students or academic staff.
Duration: The scholarship duration ranges from 1 to 12 months. Successful applicants must arrive in China no later than August 31, 2025.
Teaching Language: Courses and research may be conducted in English or Chinese.
Study/Research Fields: The scholarship covers all academic disciplines except Chinese language study.
Funding: Selected scholars will be awarded a full scholarship from the CSC during their stay in China, which includes:
Tuition Fees: Fully covered.
On-Campus Accommodation: Provided by the host university.
Comprehensive Medical Insurance: Included for the duration of the stay.
Monthly Stipend: General scholars will receive CNY 3,000 per month, while senior scholars will receive CNY 3,500 monthly.

Eligibility Criteria:
Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of countries other than the People’s Republic of China, demonstrate good moral character, and have excellent academic records. They should also be in good mental and physical health.
Age Limit:
For general scholarships, applicants should be under 45 years of age.
For senior scholars, the age limit is under 50 years.
Enrollment Status: Applicants must be either full-time students or full-time academic staff at one of the CSC’s partner universities during both the application process and their stay in China.
Pre-Admission: Applicants must have received either a pre-admission letter or an invitation letter from the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT).
Required Application Documents:
Applicants must submit the following documents:
Passport Homepage: A clear, scanned copy of the ordinary passport that remains valid throughout the application process.
Certificate of Highest Education: A school certificate or employment letter from the current foreign university.
Transcripts of Highest Education: Academic records from the most recent educational institution attended.
Study Plan: A personal statement or research proposal of at least 500 words, written in either Chinese or English.
Physical Examination Record for Foreigners: Applicants planning to stay in China for over six months must submit a photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form, completed in either English or Chinese. Applicants staying for less than six months may upload a personal health statement instead.
Non-Criminal Records Report: Applicants staying for more than six months must provide a photocopy of a non-criminal records report issued by the authorities in their country of residence. Those, staying for less than six months may submit a non-criminal records statement.
Pre-Admission Letter: A pre-admission or invitation letter from HIT (optional).
Papers or Articles Published: Any relevant academic papers or articles (optional).
Language Proficiency Certificate: Proof of language proficiency (optional).
Other Supporting Documents: Any other relevant documents (optional).

CSC Scholarship Admission Results: The CSC will send admission results to HIT on the following dates:

Notification of Results: HIT will notify applicants of the results after receiving them from the CSC.

Pre-Admission Process: Applicants must first apply for pre-admission documents or invitation letters from HIT.
CSC Online Application: Applicants should log into the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System online application link to complete the online application and upload the required documents. HIT’s Agency Number is 10213.
