International Student Festival in Trondheim (ISFiT) is the world’s largest festival for international students. It takes place every two years during the spring in Trondheim, Norway. Students from different countries and cultures can apply. The next ISFiT will be held from March 13 to 23, 2025. The theme for the 2025 festival is “POWER.” You don’t need to take the IELTS test to apply. Participants will get free accommodation and food, and help with travel costs if required. ISFiT started in 1990, and around 450 students from all over the world attend each time. Students will join 18 workshops and participate in the festival’s cultural events.
International Student Festival is a non-profit organization administrated by more than 400 student volunteers. The main motive of ISFiT is to build a better future for young people worldwide. ISFiT is held every other year, and each festival highlights important social and political issues that matter worldwide. Participants spend their days attending workshops that relate to the theme “Creating Knowledge’. Besides workshops, students will get a chance to hear from international speakers. You will also enjoy cultural events like concerts, theater shows, and comedy nights. Funding for Participants:
- Free accommodation will be provided for all participants during ISFiT 2025.
- Usually, host families are arranged, but due to the pandemic, other housing options will be used.
- Participants will receive three free meals a day, and all dietary needs will be considered. Most meals will be Norwegian-style, which may be different from what you are used to.
- Travel from the airport to Trondheim and local transport will be covered, including a free bus pass for the city.
- All essential costs are covered, except for extra food and non-essential purchases like souvenirs.
- Some cultural events, like concerts, may require you to buy tickets, but there will always be free activities to enjoy.
Eligibility Criteria for the International Student Festival:
- The festival is open to students from all countries.
- Applicants must be enrolled in a study program during the 2024/25 academic year. This can be a university or an equivalent-level program.
- Recent graduates, including those graduating in 2024, are welcome to apply for ISFiT 2025.
- No IELTS is required to apply.
- Invitation letters will be sent around November 17th. Selected participants must be accepted by November 26th.
- Applicants should have an interest in global issues and leadership.
