ISDB Scholarship Program 2024

ISDB Scholarship Program is a multilateral development finance institution that focuses on Islamic finance for its infrastructure. It was founded in 1975. ISDB concentrates on empowering the next generation of leaders through scholarships. After the bank’s overall efforts to develop the human resources of its member countries and Muslim communities in non-member countries bank successfully started its scholarship program in 1983.

This program works on the concept of Qarz Hasan (Benevolent loan) according to which interest-free loans are given to outstanding and qualified students. The loan is then repayable when a student successfully starts their employment after completing an education degree under this program and repaid loans are then used to provide scholarships to other students. Every year it gives scholarships to many students under this program. Now again this year 2024 ISDB is inviting students from member countries and Muslim students from non-member countries to apply for the scholarship program on 15 July 2024.

ISDB partners with world well-known universities and institutions to ensure they provide quality education to successful and outstanding candidates. ISDB scholarship program has successfully given 19,000 scholarships totaling $234 million to students of 57 member countries and Muslim communities of 66 non-member countries. Scholarships Programme

ISDB offers 6 programs under the main scholarship program to students who are.

Undergraduate Program
Ph.D. and Post-Doctoral Research Program
Master of science and technology program (MSc)
ISDB-ISFD for technical vocational education and training (TVET)
ISDB-ISFD bachelor and technical diploma
ISDB The world academy of sciences (TWAS)

This program is designed to provide educational opportunities to meritorious young students from member countries and Muslim communities of non-member countries to get an undergraduate degree at a public or government university.

Merit Scholarship Program

Merit Scholarship Program was introduced in 1992 and it’s basic aim to provide scholarships to outstanding scholars and researchers to undertake advanced studies and research in the field of applied science and technology. This program covers studies and research at two levels

Ph.D. study for 3 years or 38 months
Post-Doctoral Research Program

The MSc program was introduced in 1998 for least developed member countries (LDMC). Eligible students can apply for science, engineering, technology, or medical science in a specified 2-year time.

ISDB-ISFD

ISDB-ISFD program for bachelor and technical Diplomas was introduced in 2019 to reduce the poverty in 21 least developed countries (LDMC). It provides the facility for the young men and women to pursue bachelor and technical diplomas or technical vocational education and training diplomas (TVET) or both in scientific and social disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must be a citizen of member countries of ISDB.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and a good command of Arabic and French is preferable
Age 32 years or younger by the deadline of application.
Applicant must be willing to live in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and is willing to travel for country assignments as per business requirements.
