Responsibilities of the Council Members
The key responsibilities of the Council Members are:
- Raise the Youth Voice: They call the Council Members throughout the year that represent the
- UNICEF USA and raise the Youth Voices in the events and meetings locally or globally, as well as create social content for UUSA’s social media channels.
- • Support the Volunteer Programs and Youth Programs: The UNICEF Council members provide suggestions for the Volunteers and Young people in social justice work.
- •Inform Youth: Many of the UNICEF volunteer program aims to educate and motivate the Youth, volunteers, and staff about important topics of UNICEF’s work. Raise the children and youth issues through media.
- • Make a Network: They build relationships with each member of UNICEF including Youth Representatives, and UNICEF Clubs, support the MSC (management of the Slack community), and host digital communication with students.

Volunteer Commitments with UNICEF
- The volunteers Commit to serve a one-year term from 1st August 2024 – 30 May 2025
- Interested Council members who are serving more than one term are highly

- Able to spend 3 to 5 hours per week with the Council-related projects, meetings, training and other related program activities.
- They must work with passion and well-organized manners.
- Your presence is required for the Tuesday, session at 7:30-8:30 PM EST
- Must attend the in-person and virtual Training of UNICEF.

Summer Training
During August, The National Youth Council members must be available for the following Virtual and in-person events held by the UNICEF Council:
- Wednesday: 7 August at 7:30-8:30 PM (EST)
- Saturday: 17 August 12:00 to 4:00 PM (EST)
- Sunday: 18 August at 12:00 to 4:00 PM (EST)
- Tuesday: 27 August 7:30 to 8:30 PM (EST)
Fall Training
The National Youth Council members must be available in November for an in-person training program. The day and time specified as:
- Wednesday: 23rd October
- Sunday: October 27th
